Shopkick launches TV campaign with agency Marketing Architects

MINNEAPOLIS (October 1, 2019) – Shopkick, a leading shopping rewards app, makes its national television debut with the launch of its TV advertising campaign: “Whoo Hoo!”  The campaign aims to share and mimic the excitement Shopkick customers experience when using the app in-store to earn rewards while shopping.

Shopkick selected Minneapolis-based agency Marketing Architects to launch its recent TV campaign. The shopping rewards app chose Marketing Architects because of its upfront investment model and full-service capabilities. For the “Whoo Hoo!” campaign, Marketing Architects was tasked with campaign strategy, creative development and production, media placement and optimization, and performance attribution for the app.

“We are looking forward to expanding our reach through television. Marketing Architects’ initial ad campaign really captures the elation our customers experience when using the Shopkick app,” said Dave Fisch, Shopkick General Manager.

Shopkick is a free app that rewards shoppers with “kicks” (its reward currency) for entering stores, scanning products at the shelf, buying specified items online, watching product videos, and other activities. “Kicks” are then redeemed for free gift cards. Shopkick's full path-to-purchase offering delivers substantial returns for brands and retailers by allowing them to engage with consumers before they shop, then continuing with them in-store and on their phone.

“Television offers the opportunity to expand awareness of the app and its success to even more users, supporting Shopkick’s growth goals,” said Eric Pilhofer, VP Creative at Marketing Architects. “We’ve seen a tremendous opportunity for TV advertising to reach large numbers of Shopkick’s core target audience, and are excited to see how this – and future – campaigns will provide value to the app.”
